Akua Carmichael is a wife, mother, lawyer, author and teacher. She is a Senior Associate at Dale & Lessmann LLP, where she practices Estate Law. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from the University of Windsor and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Detroit Mercy. Akua was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006. She is also the author of My Lifeprint - an estate planning manual and workbook and You Are Priceless, a 31 day women’s devotional journal. Akua is also a board member of Gather.
Cheryl Nembhard is a dynamic international speaker, author, podcast/tv host & social justice advocate who also uses her artistic talents in film & theatre to tackle some of the toughest societal topics. Her dedication to Community Service includes working with at risk youth, former gang members, sexual assault victims & teenage mothers. Her Not for Profit Educational Theatre Company, EMG Education has performed special assemblies on topics such as Mental Health, Anti-Black Racism and Bullying in over 170 High Schools across Ontario, impacting over 75,000 students and counting. Cheryl is Co Host of 'See, Hear, Love', a nationally televised Women's talk show on YES TV.
Kallie Wood is the CEO and owner of the global company Converging Pathways, which bridges the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people that promotes education, motivation, inspiration and relational action. Kallie is also the Government of Saskatchewan, Senior Indigenous Advisor, Deputy Minister’s Office, Ministry of Agriculture. In her spare time, she sits on several Board of Governors across the nation and works with Foster Care and building relationships. Kallie has received numerous awards for her time commitment to reconciliation and surrounds herself with a circle of influence that are change makers towards a better future. Kallie is a recognized and sought after key note speaker and Indigenous Advisor on Indigenous issues and is recognized advocate, researcher and transformational change. Kallie is driven by harnessing the intrinsic value of every voice that fosters deeper conversations and a sense of belonging and appreciation in many contexts globally. She has a palpable ability to inspire and ignite a brighter future through Indigenous histories, stories, ways of knowing and being.
Maggie John has been a national producer, field reporter, and TV host for more than 15 years. She covers a vast array of local, national and international stories – reporting on some of the biggest news events of our day – from the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that rocked Haiti in 2010 – to the historic story of Uganda recovering from years of war. As former host on the longest-running Canadian daily talk show, 100 Huntley Street, Maggie interviewed a wide variety of guests – people from all walks of life like those making a difference in their communities, authors, victims of crime, actors, filmmakers, directors, thought leaders, politicians, and musicians.
